Walleye Rigs
![]() |
Walleye RigsWhile fishing in Canada recently we figured out another good way to rig our CritterBait Finesse jigs. We were catching Walleye on grubs tipped with night crawlers. We kept getting them snagged and breaking the baits off. Having been using the Finesse Jigs for Small mouth, we started throwing them for Walleye with the night crawler threaded on the hook shank and the grub protecting the hook point, it was incredible. The Walleye loved it. The jig was weed less and the night crawler would last for many fish. Even when the night crawler would pull in half, the part on the hook shank stayed on. This is why we left the barb on the hook shank. We also rigged the jig with the grub on the shank and the night crawler on the keeper and covering the hook point. Although this method was not as weed less and the worm would come off easier, it presented a different look to the Walleye that we're sure they hadn't seen before. We have also used this rig to catch small mouth in Canada and Kentucky's at Table Rock. Please Contact us with ways you have found to rig your CritterBait Jig. They might be featured on this page.
